I read The Hunchback of Notre Dame when I was about 10 years old. I don't remember all of it but I remember being really disappointed at the sad ending because I had already seen the Disney version and I was expecting it to be happy. But I actually think the book's version is way better.
I didn't read the book but i read about the story on wikipedia . I know that that can no way compare to the book, tho. I learned about another one of Victor Hugo's works this way. Ever heard of Les Miserables? Just reading the story on Wiki made me cry tears of joy . I saw the 2012 movie (AWESOME) and am currently reading the [insanely LONG] book, which is even more touching
I have indeed heard of Les Miserables. I have never read the book or seen the movie, though. It's been highly recommended by many people, but I think I would rather read the book than watch the movie, since I find it distracting and somewhat annoying when a storyline is constantly interrupted by people breaking into song. Not that I don't like musicals, I love Chicago and Moulin Rouge, but I have my limits.
