Drandez is a politician who was blackmailed out of a seat on the leading council of his people. Sekaya, the daughter of his master who he was apprenticing under - until a freak accident several years before cut the apprenticeship short - has come out of nowhere to claim her rightful place at court. But now the council is corrupt, and a race who once terrorized the world are now returning, breaking the seals that had prevented them from accessing their massive powers.
